1. Killiecrankie Hotel

A lovely Country House hotel which sits amongst four acres of wooded grounds.   The recently refurbished rooms have been elegantly decorated in rich colours and fabrics, filled with luxurious toiletries, white fluffy towels and fresh flowers. The cosy wood-paneled bar stocks over 40 malt whiskies and you will get a wonderful welcome from resident spaniel Beanie named after the Redcoat Soldier who lept 18ft across the raging River Garry, fleeing the Jacobites.

 

2. Muckrach Country House Hotel, Dulnain Bridge

What was once a Victorian shooting lodge, Muckrach Country Lodge has now been restored beyond its former glory to become a vibrant and luxurious hotel in the Cairngorms. The hotel has 16 beautiful rooms to choose from plus a newly opened self-catering cottage next door. Two of their hotel rooms are also dog-friendly.

 

3. Candacraig, Strathdon

Candacraig is an exclusive country house, immaculately presented to the highest standards, but where the atmosphere is always warm and relaxing. Catch a glimpse of this 17th-century Scottish baronial mansion, and you will recognise that you have discovered an absolute gem. A warm welcome from the staff, magnificent rooms and a Single Malt Whisky Library are just some of the things which make up this amazing experience.

 

4. The Old Minister’s House, Aviemore 

This luxury guest house situated on the ski road to Cairngorm Mountain at Rothiemurchus backs onto the River Druie. The new owners have received 5-star rave reviews on TripAdvisor and have created a Gin Lovers paradise with a wonderful selection of Scottish Gins. In 2019 the Guest House will switch to self-catering.

 

5. The Dulaig, Grantown on Spey 

Winner of award “AA guest accommodation of the year for Scotland 2016-17”. One of the few Bed and Breakfasts awarded 5 Star Gold by Visit Scotland, this little gem in Grantown is a beautiful place to stay. The large private garden is a haven for wildlife and you can watch squirrels and birds as you relax on your break.

 

6. The Spey, Grantown on Spey

The Spey Bed and Breakfast has a contemporary Scottish style. All guest rooms are named after clans that have a personal meaning to the owners. You can be sure of a homely Highland welcome and relax in the lounge in front of the open fire.

 

7. The Bothy, Aviemore

The Bothy features modern Scottish and cool Scandinavian-style interiors with cosy home comforts as well as a Morso wood burning stove. The ultimate place to relax in front of after a day adventuring in the Cairngorms. The Bothy is situated in the village of Aviemore and makes a fantastic base from which to explore.
